If you are aged 14-25 and homeless or at risk of being homeless, come on by or call us at 907-373-4357 (HELP).  Our Gathering Grounds Cafe is open from 9am-4pm Monday through Friday and 10am-3pm on Saturday.  Case Management is available from 8am-5pm.  We offer a hot supper form 3-4pm every day for any homeless aged 14-25 who are hungry.  This is available to both clients and non-clients with no strings attached.  It is staffed by volunteers who both cook and join clients for a meal, visiting, and sharing.

When young people live in healthy environments and have access to opportunities that build positive social connections and develop strong identities, youth substance use decreases.  Positive youth development is an  intentional, pro-social approach to youth engagement that promotes positive outcomes for young people.  Thrive Mat-Su seeks to enrich positive youth development in the Mat-Su Borough.

At United Way of Mat-Su, we believe that all Alaskans have the power to unite toward a brighter future for all members of our community.  Whether providing the tools our Valley students need to feel their best on the first day of school, supporting local families in financial stability, or promoting good health for all, we're here to tackle the issues facing the Mat-Su, every day.

The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) is thrilled to offer a new suite of FREE resources for high school students through our Kids2 Careers program!  There are many resources for educators, students, families, and partners/volunteers on the new Kids2 Careers website to support students in grades 5 through 12, as they explore and plan for education and career training after high school.

New Kids2 Careers resources include grade-specific Student Success Steps, Family Guiding Steps, a Digital Senior Planning Calendar, Senior Checklist, Planning Templates, and so much more!  We also offer panel discussions and presentations to engage students in important conversations surrounding educational pathways and career planning.
