HJS PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Students are expected to participate to the best of their ability in each PE unit that is introduced. Students on occasion will shy away from certain unit blocks because of their perceived abilities. It takes a lot of courage to step out of ones comfort zone and try new things or things that are perceived by a student to be difficult.  They will be encouraged to try their best, since that is all we expect! As the students are informed, they are not assessed on how well they compete in our games, but moreover on how well they improve!

Medically Excused:

If a student has a medical excuse to miss PE, they need to have a written note from a parent. After 3 days it is a district policy to have a doctor's note.  In these rare cases I tend to have the injured student fill the role of teacher's aide. They become a helper until they are able to rejoin to full participation.
